Kuda progress

Work is progressing on my project car, and I've recently put all new sheet metal back on the shell. I also mocked up the whole exterior, roughly fitting the fiberglass front fenders and hood, bumpers, spoilers, grill, wheels etc..    And the above image is how it looked. Pretty cool to see it looking like a car again!

HOT ROD Challenger

Hot Rod magazine just published a bunch of my 'chop images in the September issue, check it out! I've also been working on a series of design options for them, of a short-track styled challenger for a rough '71 shell they have found. Here's one of my favourites.

Latest thinking for my car once I paint over the short-term grey/black scheme. The red panels are only on one side, the rest is all black like this. I love the name Mopar Missile, it's got such great history...  and it fits the black nose look, like a missile. Hopefully my car will be a guided missile and not fire-and-forget!

King Fish funny car

I saw this great clip from 1971 on youtube and had to do a photochop image of the KingFish cuda funny car. The footage of its pre-stage burnout is fantastic! I love how the rear wheels poke out like a gasser, something I've never seen before in a funny car.

440 Kuda future paint jobs

Here's how I think I'll repaint my car once I've had my fun with the primer grey and black nose look. The body is all flat black apart from the rear quarter, door, and c pillar on one side, which will be painted to look like a rough old race car (inspired by the 15oz coupe). I love the idea of having a two sided car.

This is the awesome IMSA Dodge Challenger belonging to Glenn Bunch. He's raced it since the mid 70s, and it's been through a lot of changes over the years. This is the car as it looked in the late 70's. Glenn still races this car, and it's seriously fast.

this is a '71 hemicuda convertible that sold for 2.5 million bucks a few years ago. at the time that was pretty cheap for a '71 hemicuda 'vert, which is the most expensive muscle car, purely because although everyone wants one now, they didn't in 1971, and they only built 12...
