I saw this great clip from 1971 on youtube and had to do a photochop image of the KingFish cuda funny car. The footage of its pre-stage burnout is fantastic! I love how the rear wheels poke out like a gasser, something I've never seen before in a funny car.

Here's how I think I'll repaint my car once I've had my fun with the primer grey and black nose look. The body is all flat black apart from the rear quarter, door, and c pillar on one side, which will be painted to look like a rough old race car (inspired by the 15oz coupe). I love the idea of having a two sided car.

This is the awesome IMSA Dodge Challenger belonging to Glenn Bunch. He's raced it since the mid 70s, and it's been through a lot of changes over the years. This is the car as it looked in the late 70's. Glenn still races this car, and it's seriously fast.

this is the G-Force '71 'cuda built by Johnson's Hot Rod Shop. it's had a ton of custom work done, including a full tube chassis, lengthened wheel base, carbon fiber body panels, 900hp alloy hemi, 6 speed transaxle, roof chop/reshape, 15" titanium brakes, corvette suspension, etc etc... awesome car

this is the oh-so-very-rad E-Max challenger TA from Hotchkis Suspension. check out the online reviews of this car, it's seriously blowing people away. i hope to have the full suite of hotchkis parts in my cuda. i love the idea of sticking with the stock mopar design (torsion bar front, leaf spring rear) but tricking it out with the best parts, and ending up with a car that handles very well, while still being true to its old muscle car roots.

and here's an AAR, the plymouth trans-am homologation car. these things are awesome, they came with rowdy side exit exhausts, screaming hot small blocks, close ratio 4 speed, quick ratio steering, staggered tire sizes (a first), reflective stripes, and a fiberglass hood. stock! this version is my favourite AAR, with plain steelies and a hood tach.

this is the '70 plymouth 'cuda that Dan Gurney campaigned in the 1970 Trans-Am series. i think it is one of the best looking race cars ever, and it's one of the main reasons i got a cuda. these E body racers had potential, winning pole postition on a few occasions, but first year teething issues prevented them from winning any races. but if they were giving out awards for best lookin car on the track then this thing had the competition beat.

oh, it also had the first computer designed rollcage in the world! rad.
